AMTA LIFETIME CHARTER MEMBER,

GREAT FRIEND,

GREAT FAMILY!

Spencer Franklyn Wilkins, born July 25, 1942 left us to go to Heaven on January 15, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Helen Comstock Wilkins and Spencer Albert Wilkins. Spencer graduated from Ithaca High School in Ithaca, New York in the Spring of 1959 and joined the United States Air Force shortly after. When he left the Air Force in 1966 he joined LTV. He stayed with the company until he retired from Raytheon in 1997.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and good friend to many. He enjoyed his life in Greenville by spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go to gospel music festivals, go on cruises, and work on projects around the house. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed his friends in his Sunday school class and Young at Heart group.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his brother Dean Montgomery Wilkins, Sr.. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy Wilkins, their two dogs, Maisy and Sadie, and their five children and ten grandchildren: Becky and Dave Ludwig and their sons Christopher and Blake, Scott and Michaeline Wilkins, and their children, Jordan, Marissa, and Joshua, Bryan and Emily Wilkins, and their sons Jasper, Wesley, and Marshall, Elizabeth Barnhart and her son Daniel, and Nicole and Evan Kinslow and their son Samuel.
